During the day, rescuers pulled out from under the rubble in Turkey about two thousand more bodies of the dead, thus the number of victims grew from 22 to 24.6 thousand people, RIA Novosti reports citing a statement by Vice President Fuat Oktay. He clarified that the removal of debris continues.

Powerful tremors of magnitude greater than 7.7 shook the southern and eastern provinces of Turkey at the start of this week. Several powerful earthquakes resulted in numerous destruction and death of tens of thousands of people. Experts say this earthquake was the most powerful since 1939.
