Arabic version: مقتل عنصر خدمة أميركي في العراق بانفجار طائرة مسيّرة

According to Al Jazeera, a US service member was killed in northern Iraq during a controlled detonation of an explosive device from a downed Iranian drone.

The fatality was reported on 20 July 2026. Al Jazeera said the drone was Iranian.

The death came a day after two US soldiers were killed and another was missing following an Iranian attack in Jordan.
