US President Donald Trump has indicated he is considering a limited military strike on Iran to pressure its leaders into agreeing to a deal that would restrict the country’s nuclear program. This statement came during a press interaction shortly after officials hinted at the possibility of military action.

According to BBC News, Trump mentioned that the world would learn within the next ten days whether a diplomatic resolution would be reached or if the US would resort to military force. The United States has been bolstering its military presence in the region, which includes the deployment of significant naval assets such as the USS Gerald R. Ford and USS Abraham Lincoln.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced that the country is preparing a draft proposal for a potential agreement, which is expected to be delivered to US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff soon. This development follows recent talks in Switzerland, where progress was reportedly made between US and Iranian officials.

As tensions escalate, Iran has reinforced its military facilities, and its Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has issued warnings to US forces via social media. Trump has yet to clarify the specific military objectives should a strike occur, though he has been presented with various options by US officials. Any military action could complicate Trump’s domestic standing, especially as public approval ratings show growing discontent with his administration’s handling of other issues.
