Police are investigating after a man was shot in the head and chest in a southwest Sydney carpark, and a car crashed into a house and caught fire.
The 27-year-old man was peppered in bullets in the shooting on Canterbury Road, Campsie, on Tuesday night.
Police were called to the scene around 9.20pm. The man was treated by paramedics before being taken to St George hospital in a serious condition.
Sydney media report the shooting was believed to be linked to the city’s underworld wars.
A short time later emergency services were called to Kingsgrove where a Mercedes sedan had crashed into a house before catching alight.
No injuries were reported at the housefire on Kilkee Avenue, and the fire was extinguished by Fire and Rescue NSW.
Media report police are investigating if there are links to two other burnt-out cars discovered on Tuesday night.
Crime scenes were established at both locations and detectives have commenced an investigation under Strike Force Faux.
Police are urging anyone with CCTV, dashcam footage or information about either of these incidents to contact Burwood police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au.
