Leanne Ng has spent her life in sky, graduating from UNSW Bachelor of Aviation Degree, Leanne is one the top
Flight instructors in her field. Since the Covid Pandemic Leanne has volunteered at Little Wings, flying families from Rural and Regional NSW to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, The Sydney Children’s Hospital at Randwick, and The John Hunter Children’s Hospital in Newcastle. “The idea of Little Wings is to provide a service that keeps the family together, and make the journey for the child in terms of travel fatigue and stress a bit easier. So I am so very proud to be part of this team and each mission” – Leanne Ng
“Little Wings is an organisation, made up of 90% volunteers. Every pilot, driver and event staff working together and dedicating their time and talent to create direct and meaningful change for families from the bush.
This International Women’s Day we wanted to celebrate the growing diversity of our team, including our first female pilot, and doing our part to help promote women in aviation. 2022 will see Little Wings complete 10-years of service, and we are proud to have flown hundreds of families safely and with an incredible team in the air and on the ground”
– Clare Pearson, CEO
On Monday 7th March 2022, a special event was held at Bankstown Airport to recognize the women who have volunteered, and managed the organization throughout its short 10-year history. This celebration included special guests, Erin Molan, Janette Davie – Little Wings Chairperson, Leanne Ng – Little Wings Pilot, discussing how Little Wings grew to help hundreds of families, travelling over 3 million Kilometres in the air and on the ground to date.
Generously ClubsNSW, under the Your local club banner announced at the IWD brunch, that they will continue to support Little Wings, via sponsoring 67 missions. Clare Pearson commented “The support of Your local club is a powerful one, connecting children in need with access to life-saving medical treatment regardless of postcode. Little Wings is not government funded, so we need help to remain in the air and reaching those most in need. We cannot do it alone, so the support of ClubsNSW is a life-line in so many ways”.
ClubsNSW CEO Josh Landis said his organisation is proud to continue supporting Little Wings under the Your Local Club banner.
“Your Local Club has been the foundation partner of Little Wings since its inception, and we are delighted to be able to keep helping them provide vital assistance to sick children and their families,” said Mr Landis.
“Clubs understand the importance of community and keeping families together, especially in difficult times. No family should have to worry about how or if they will be able to get their child the medical care they need. We are only too happy to be able to help alleviate that stress.”
Leanne NG is one of many inspiring, driven, positive woman in the organisation, honoured on the day, highlighting how women are creating a positive, everlasting change to families all around NSW.
