More than 20,000 fans from all over the world flocked towards the Co-op Live arena in Manchester on Friday to watch Harry Styles perform his first concert in two and a half years. Some fans camped out for 48 hours to secure a spot near the front, as excitement built for the performance of his new album, “Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally,” which was released earlier that day. According to The Guardian, this show marks Styles’ return to the stage since closing out a tour in Italy in July 2023.

The concert has been marketed as a homecoming show for Styles, who was raised outside the city in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire. Fans, affectionately known as “Harries,” lined up outside the venue dressed in vibrant outfits, with some using foil blankets to stay warm while waiting. Many expressed their enthusiasm for Styles’ new music and the opportunity to see him live again.

Kara Rosenberg, who traveled to Manchester from Chicago, described the event as a “once in a lifetime experience,” highlighting the joy and nostalgia that Styles brings to his fans. Although tickets initially sold for £20, prices on the secondary market soared, with reports of fans offering large sums of cash for tickets. Richard, a security guard at the venue, noted that he had seen someone pay a grand in cash for a ticket, highlighting the lengths to which fans would go to attend.

Among those without tickets were three friends from Berlin who have collectively seen Styles perform 50 times. They remained optimistic about finding entry, stating that their shared love for Styles made the experience special. The concert is not only a chance to enjoy live music but also a bonding experience for many attendees, further emphasizing Styles’ impact on his fan base.
