Lest We Forget

ANZAC Day, 25 April, remains one of the most important dates in our nation’s identity. It marks the anniversary of both Australian and New Zealand troops landing on the beaches of Gallipoli and making the ultimate sacrifice. Below is the iconic Ode of Remembrance, synonymous with ANZAC Day. It is the fourth stanza of the 1914 poem For the Fallen by Laurence Binyon. This poem is key to keeping alive the legacy of our fallen troops so they may never leave our hearts and minds.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
