Naveed Akram, the man charged with killing fifteen people at a Jewish festival in Sydney’s Bondi Beach, has been hit with 19 new offences. Akram, who is already facing 59 charges, including 15 counts of murder and 40 counts of attempted murder, now faces additional serious allegations.

According to BBC News, the new charges, filed in April but confirmed recently, include 10 counts of ‘shoot at with intent to murder’, six counts of discharging a firearm with intent to resist arrest, and three counts of causing wounding or grievous bodily harm with intent to murder.

The 24-year-old has made several brief court appearances but has not yet entered a plea regarding the charges. His father, Sajid Akram, who was also armed and shot at the crowd during the incident, was killed by police at the scene on December 14, 2025.

The Bondi Beach shooting has prompted a royal commission into antisemitism in Australia, highlighting the ongoing issues surrounding hate crimes in the country.
