Antoun, the rising Sydney-based artist who captured national attention during Australian Idol 2025, has released a powerful new single titled “For You”, now streaming across all major platforms. While at first glance the track may sound like a breakup ballad, Antoun reveals a much deeper, more personal meaning behind the song.
“The first reason behind writing/singing the song was never about a breakup,” Antoun explains. “It’s about losing the trust of the people you love – because that’s more devastating than a breakup! The breakup is just an added flavour to the song.”
This raw emotional insight adds a new dimension to “For You”, elevating it beyond typical heartbreak tracks. With poignant lyrics and an atmospheric production, Antoun delivers a message about betrayal, guilt, and the pain of being misunderstood by those closest to you.
The accompanying music video, now live on YouTube, visually echoes these themes. With a moody, stripped-back aesthetic, the video captures Antoun’s vulnerability as he navigates emotional loss and fractured relationships. The result is a cinematic reflection of the song’s core message – that sometimes, the deepest wounds are inflicted not by lovers, but by those we trust most.
Antoun’s journey from televised talent show contestant to introspective songwriter is winning over audiences nationwide. On social media, particularly via @antounofficial_, his fanbase continues to grow, drawn to his honesty and relatability.
Released on 21 April 2025, “For You” is now available on Amazon Music, Spotify, Apple Music, and other major platforms. With its emotionally rich narrative and soulful delivery, the track solidifies Antoun’s place as a compelling new voice in the Australian music scene.
