South Sudan’s Senior Presidential Adviser on Special Programs, Hon. Adut Salva Kiir, has appealed to communities across the country to honour existing peace agreements, describing peace as the foundation for everyday dignity and productivity.

She said true peace is reflected when young people are engaged in constructive, innovative work; when an 80-year-old can tend his garden without fear; and when a mother can start her day and run her business safely. Adut pledged to support young South Sudanese facing current challenges and to champion initiatives that create opportunities for them.

Vowing to strengthen trust between citizens and government, she outlined priority areas for her office: advocating for more schools, upgrading critical road infrastructure, and revitalising the agriculture sector nationwide.

Emphasising education as a pathway to improved livelihoods, Adut called for a review of employment policies to ensure merit-based recruitment. She argued that open, competitive hiring would reward qualified candidates, encourage creativity, and build practical skills among the nation’s youth.
