President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has ordered the authorities concerned to refer the case of Egyptian footballer Ahmed Refaat, who died on July 6 at the age of 31, to the Public Prosecution to take the legal actions necessary against whomsoever might be found in violation of due process.
Sisi also instructed that all the bodies concerned coordinate for regulating and streamlining travel procedures for sportspeople during their conscription period, to ensure that everyone is treated equally before the law.
Refaat died months after suffering a heart attack on the pitch.
