The families of around 1,700 Palestinian prisoners have said that their monthly payments from the Palestinian Authority (PA) have stopped, the New Arab is reporting.

Citing Palestinian sources, the report said that the decision to cut the payments was taken by the Ministry of Finance and Palestinian security services.

The move follows a decree issued by President Mahmoud Abbas to cancel payments to the families of those killed by Israel or held in Israeli prisons.
