On Friday, 2 May 2025, Maestria Restaurant & Bar in Rhodes came alive with the sights, sounds, and flavours of Lebanon as the sold-out event Beirut Meets Sydney 2025 brought together Lebanese-Australians from all walks of life. More than just an evening of entertainment, this cultural showcase was a heartfelt celebration of heritage, unity, and the enduring connection between Lebanon and its diaspora.

From the moment guests walked in, greeted with a welcome drink and the warm smiles of fellow attendees, the atmosphere was electric. The venue—stylish and intimate—was transformed into a hub of Lebanese tradition and festivity. Live DJ sets filled the air with upbeat rhythms and nostalgic tunes, setting the perfect tone for the night.

But the highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the culinary journey. The shared Middle Eastern feast featured an authentic live saj station run by the talented team at Saj Station, where freshly made flatbreads were topped with classic ingredients like za’atar, cheese, and Shankleesh. A live Middle Eastern sweets station sponsored by Samir Abla added to the indulgence, offering everything from baklava to knefe. The food wasn’t just nourishment—it was storytelling, each bite evoking memories of home and tradition.

What made Beirut Meets Sydney 2025 truly special was its community-driven mission. The event was endorsed by prominent Lebanese universities, including the Lebanese American University (LAU) and Notre Dame University (NDU), and all proceeds went towards future cultural initiatives and charitable support for Lebanon. It was a powerful example of diaspora giving back—not only preserving identity, but also uplifting those back home. Oz Arab Media was also present at this event and represented by Remy Wehbe, Linda Kafrouni, Charbel Tadros and Christine Nassif.
More than a party, Beirut Meets Sydney became a platform for connection—between old friends, new acquaintances, and generations of Lebanese-Australians proud to share their culture. It served as a reminder that no matter the distance, Lebanon lives on in the hearts of its people.

As guests departed with full hearts and happy memories, one thing was certain: Beirut Meets Sydney 2025 wasn’t just a success—it was a beacon of what community, culture, and compassion can achieve when they come together.
