Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said today that US President Donald Trump cannot deprive Iran of its right to a nuclear program, according to the Iranian Student News Agency (ISNA).
“Trump says Iran should not use its nuclear rights, but he doesn’t say for what crime,” ISNA quoted Pezeshkian as saying. “What kind of power does he have to be able to deprive a nation of its legal rights?”
The president’s comments come amid disagreements between Washington and Tehran over Iran’s nuclear program.
A prominent moderate, Pezeshkian has been largely sidelined since the conflict began.
