A major police operation is underway in Sydney’s busy Bondi Junction after reports of shots being fired.
Police responded to reports of shots fired at Spring Street at Bondi Junction on Tuesday morning.
There were also multiple media reports a man had been shot.
Waverley Council urged people to avoid the area.
“A police operation is taking place between Spring Street (on the corner of Newland Street) and Denison Street in Bondi Junction,” it said in a Twitter post.
“This part of Bondi Junction is closed to all traffic, pedestrians and cyclists for the next few hours. Please avoid the area.”
